It appears as if the never-ending saga consisting of a New York Giants-Odell Beckham Jr. reunion has finally found the ending we thought we'd never receive.
ESPN's Giants beat writer, Jordan Raanan, tweeted as much the other day:
Now, it's unclear as to whether or not this is Raanan's opinion, but it's not framed as such. At the same time, it's also not framed as a report. It's pretty much been left in a state of ambiguity; however, Raanan is obviously connected with people inside the building – he wouldn't just say that without having some kind of direct knowledge of the situation.
And, per Over The Cap, the. Giants have close to $8 million in cap room, so they have the room to give Beckham Jr. a deal, if they wanted to.
It's a prudent decision, as well. At this point, it's very unclear what Beckham actually brings to the table. He's been out of football for over an entire calendar year, now, and the fact he held a workout as opposed to teams flying him in privately isn't really a great indicator, either.
Sticking to their scouting and going after younger players that are more apt when it comes to helping build a foundation around Daniel Jones is a better process and it's good to see the Giants going in that direction.
