There's been a blockbuster trade involving the New York Giants. They are trading for star tight end Darren Waller from the Las Vegas Raiders. The most interesting aspect of this trade may be the compensation going from the Giants to the Raiders.

New York is trading the 100th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft for Waller. That was the pick they received from the Kansas City Chiefs in return for wide receiver Ladarius Toney.

That piece of the deal is pretty intriguing.

Not only was the pick traded to the Giants, but it was also gotten by the Kansas City Chiefs because Ryan Poles was hired by the Chicago Bears. The Chiefs received it as compensation for him leaving their front office. He's now the GM in Chicago.

Accordingly, that pick has been passed around quite often, it just landed the Giants one of the top tight ends in the entire NFL.

When healthy, Waller is a special talent. The Giants now have the star TE under contract for four more seasons.

Waller is a game-changer for the Giants offense. The move also shows that New York has plenty of confidence in Daniel Jones at QB after extending him last week.

The Giants are putting plenty of talent around him to compete for a title in the NFC and a Super Bowl. Waller is a new piece to the puzzle in New York.
