The New York Giants will most likely be without their top offensive talent, according to multiple sources. Malik Nabers suffered a concussion in the team's Week 4 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

His status is quite up in the air for Week 5, and New York would probably be smart to play it safe with their young star. Nabers has been one of the top wideouts in the entire NFL so far in 2024.

Malik Nabers unlikely to play in Week 5

Jordan Raanan considers Nabers to be a longshot to play against the Seattle Seahawks.

With that sort of news, opportunity steps to the forefront. Other players must step up for New York's offense if they want any chance of winning. Seattle has one of the top offenses in the NFC so far this year.

Time to step up, Jalin Hyatt

Jalin Hyatt has seen limited snaps so far this season as a former third-round pick. Hyatt has not caught a single pass this season, through four games. Giants starting QB Daniel Jones says that he's handled the lack of playing time well, though.

"He's a pro, he's a mature guy. You've seen it out at practice. He's continued to show up and make a lot of plays. I know it's frustrating for a guy not to get to those opportunities on a Sunday, but I thought he's handled it well. I have a ton of confidence in him out there making plays, changing the game with his speed and the ability to get behind the defense. I know he'll be ready to go." — via Zach Ragan

Hyatt's highest snap count percentage so far this season came in Week 1 with 23%.

Clearly, Brian Daboll and his staff do not think he is one of the best options for the Giants passing game. They may be forced into giving him another chance to prove himself this week, though.

In 2023, Hyatt was a field stretcher for the G-Men. Multiple Giants quarterbacks showed an ability to connect with him downfield. His speed is his best attribute. That's been the case since he entered the NFL.

Hyatt showed some inconsistencies as a rookie, but his rep inside the building in New York has seemingly slipped.

Darius Slayton and Wan'Dale Robinson will probably be the top two targets at WR this weekend for New York. Robinson has actually been a consistent option behind Nabers, but a lot of his work has come at or behind the line of scrimmage.

If Hyatt can't get on the field ahead of Bryce Ford-Wheaton and Ihmir Smith-Marsette, then that will tell everyone exactly how much the Giants think of the second-year wide receiver.
