Sauce Gardners praises Malik Nabers in a major way
Arguably the best cornerback in football has a ton of respect for the first-year receiver for his New York rival. Gardner says that Nabers reminds him of Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. Those are just two of the top NFL receivers of the past five years.
Gardner noted Nabers' fluidity in route running. That was his top trait entering the league, and it's showing up early in his pro career.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh shared some positive notes on Nabers, too. As a top-tier defensive mind in football, that's a notable nod for the rookie wideout. He's standing out to everyone involved.
"Elite competitor. Freaky. You could argue that he could've been the number 1 receiver [taken]…he's a very special talent." — Saleh on Nabers
Nabers and Gardner both had good reps against each other during joint practice on Wednesday. There's no surprise that Nabers garnered some respect from the Pro Bowl CB.
Daniel Jones is clearly looking for his rookie wideout early and often. There hasn't been video of Nabers' impressive win against Gardner on social media as of now.
We've seemingly gotten a highlight from Nabers almost every day during practice.
His snaps in the preseason have been fairly limited, but he did total 54 receiving yards last weekend. The Giants know what they have in the first-round pick. They don't really need to see him in the preseason as of now. Instead, keep him healthy entering the games that count.
Regardless, the hype continues to grow for Nabers. Sauce Gardner just stirred the pot even more in the best way possible for fans of the Giants.
