The New York Giants have a major free agent on the horizon. Star running back Saquon Barkley will hit the market if he is not franchise tagged or extended by New York.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Giants are not expected to place the tag on Barkley. He will probably hit the open market.

The New York Giants will speak with Barkley and explore a deal with him, but they are also unlikely to tag him for $12,109,200, sources told ESPN. — ESPN

Barkley has been the biggest piece to the Giants offense since he was drafted. There was reported tension between him and the Giants during last offseason before they agreed to a one-year deal.

For New York, they will have to look at free agency and the 2024 NFL Draft in order to add talent at the RB position. It will be tough to replace his production, but they must do their best.
