The New York Giants are approaching 2023 with the goal of not only repeating the success of 2022 but rather leveling up expectations.

With key free agent acquisitions and re-signings, paired with an upcoming draft, the Giants are well on their way to doing such.

But Vegas and more specifically, BetOnline.Ag isn't nearly as bullish on the Giants, with their latest playoff chances revealing as much.

The Giants rank 18th in playoff chances according to BetOnline.Ag's odds, with a mere 36.4% chance of making it to the postseason.

Now, there is a bevy of teams below the Giants who belong there, and some that are questionable.

But what about the teams with better chances than New York?

Forgive me if I think the very team that the Giants beat in the playoffs, (Minnesota Vikings) will continue their success in close games next season, making another playoff run despite a negative point differential.

What about the Browns?

Did I miss the game where Deshuan Watson showed he was back to being the quarterback he's capable of? Was there even a glimpse of the Houston version of the signal caller?

I don't recall that.

And then what about the Saints with the sixth-highest odds to make the playoffs at 66.7%?

I happen to favor Derek Carr more than the majority of NFL media, and I understand the division is a mess around the Saints.

The Falcons have more questions than answers, the Buccaneers are in a rebuild whether they admit it or not, and Carolina currently holds the number one overall pick.

But the Saints roster is aging fast defensively, has questions about the availability of Alvin Kamara, and has only one reliable pass catcher in Chris Olave.

So sorry if I think the Giants deserve more credit than the aforementioned franchises.

I understand prior performances don't predict future outcomes. But let's cut the small talk.

Vegas doesn't believe in Daniel Jones and they think the team will be figured out in 2023.

In reality, I believe the offense will only be better, with Brian Daboll fully settled into his coaching role and his players now thoroughly exposed to his offensive philosophy.

The questions on the defense remain and hopefully will be solved by the time the calendar turns to May, following the draft and priority free-agent period.

Even if not, the Giants can just keep stacking the chips that the media and oddsmakers are putting on their shoulder.
