New York Giants’ potential quarterback plan for first round of the NFL Draft continues to look better and better each day

The New York Giants might already have a preferred choice for their No. 3 overall pick but that will be irrelevant until they go on the clock.
That's because what the Cleveland Browns do one pick earlier will go a humongous way in shaping their final decision. After all, the two teams are likely interested in the same pool of three players; CB/WR Travis Hunter, EDGE Abdul Carter, and QB Shedeur Sanders.
With Deshaun Watson's era essentially over in Cleveland, the Browns could very well be looking into Sanders just like the Giants, who have signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason for what more closely resembles a couple of band-aids than a long-term cure for their QB disease.
Should the Giants want to pick Sanders to become their long-term solution at quarterback, the good news keep coming every day. That's because the Browns seem to be heading another direction.
Last week, I talked to A to Z Sports Cleveland's Brandon Little, who said: "The general feeling is that the Browns are going to choose between the two blue-chip prospects in this class; Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter. Cleveland is interested in veteran QB Kirk Cousins and bringing him in makes plenty of sense."
That notion is being taken a step further by ESPN's Adam Schefter. On Monday, the NFL insider provided the "latest intel" surrounding the Browns' pick and named the likeliest choice at No. 2.
"The latest intel now is that I believe Travis Hunter is the more likely pick at two today," Schefter said on his podcast. "I think the Cleveland Browns saw him on Friday at his Pro Day, and they saw somebody that could move like nobody else."
Between the Carter and now Hunter buzz, it's becoming increasingly clear that the Browns aren't thinking quarterback at two. Now the question becomes, are the Giants?
According to Albert Breer from Sports Illustrated, his guess is it'll come down to Carter or Hunter with the Giants looking at Day 2 quarterbacks instead. But things are way blurrier in New York's side of things, with a large contingent including HC Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen traveling to Sanders' Pro Day last weekend in Colorado.
The potential deciding factor? The Giants' urgency to win, clearly defined by owner John Mara back in January:
"(Improvement) better not take too long, because I've just about run out of patience."
