The New York Giants have quite the quarterback conundrum. Just a week after cutting ties with Daniel Jones, their expected starter going forward is now dealing with an injury.
Meanwhile, Jones just signed with the Minnesota Vikings practice squad on Wednesday morning. He will be the backup to Sam Darnold on a winning team for the remainder of the season.
Lock to start
According to Jordan Ranaan, Drew Lock is in line to start on Thursday night with Tommy DeVito's status up in the air. DeVito has not been ruled out, but it's currently a "long shot" for him to play.
DeVito is dealing with a forearm injury he suffered in their Week 12 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
DeVito did not fly to Dallas with the team for the Thanksgiving matchup. It seems unlikely that he would play after getting there on his own later on Wednesday.
“QB Tommy DeVito (right forearm) will not accompany the team to Dallas. DeVito is anticipated to arrive in Dallas later today.” — New York Giants
It's not an easy matchup for the backup QB. Lock has not seen many game reps this season, and he will now face Micah Parsons and co. in primetime.
Dallas' defense has certainly been flawed in recent weeks, but they have some talent at every level. Let's see how the QB fares in the rivalry matchup. Not to mention, the Giants don't expect to have either starting offensive tackle.
Giants cornerback Deonte Banks is also questionable for the matchup.
New York has not officially announced a starter for the game, but that announcement will probably not happen until Thursday. They'll take it down to the buzzer to force the Cowboys to prepare for all options.
