The New York Giants aren't done prepping their roster for the upcoming 2023 season and that's a good thing since they didn't address the inside linebacker position very well in the draft.

But with priority free agents still rolling in, and Bobby Okereke on the roster as big signing in free agency, the unit is in better shape than they were last season, even if they lack useful depth.

So, without further ado, let's check out the Giants post-draft roster. Note: Single asterisks (*) represent 2023 draft picks and double asterisks (**) represent undrafted free agents

Quarterback

  • Tommy DeVito**
  • Daniel Jones
  • Tyrod Taylor

The skinny: The Giants obviously just paid Daniel Jones, signing him to a huge extension and placing the "franchise" label on the 25-year-old quarterback whether he deserves it or not. Tyrod Taylor has been a valuable player his whole career and is one of the better backups in the league.

Running back

  • Saquon Barkley
  • Matt Breida
  • Gary Brightwell
  • Jashaun Corbin
  • Eric Gray*

The skinny: Despite concerns about the contract situation between Barkley and the Giants' front office, if he's healthy and the rotation includes Breida and newly drafted back Eric Gray, the unit will be one of the best in the league.

Wide receiver

  • Parris Campbell
  • Jamison Crowder
  • Bryce Ford-Wheaton**
  • Isaiah Hodgins
  • Jalin Hyatt*
  • Collin Johnson
  • Jaydon Mickens
  • Kalil Pimpleton
  • Makai Polk
  • Wan'Dale Robinson
  • Sterling Shepard
  • David Sills
  • Darius Slayton
  • Jeff Smith

The skinny: If not for the selection of Jalin Hyatt in the third round, then the biggest question would still remain on the offense's perimeter. But this is a well-rounded group with possession targets, slot receivers, and now a deep threat in Hyatt.

Tight end

  • Daniel Bellinger
  • Lawrence Cager
  • Ryan Jones**
  • Dre Miller
  • Chris Myarick
  • Tommy Sweeney
  • Darren Waller

The skinny: Headlined by the trade of the offseason in Darren Waller, the Giants tight end room boasts the potential to be deadly out of 12 personnel (two tight end sets) with Waller and Bellinger.

Offensive line

  • Jack Anderson G
  • Ben Bredeson G
  • Korey Cunningham T
  • Wyatt Davis G
  • Joshua Ezeudu G
  • Mark Glowinski G
  • Devery Hamilton T
  • J. C. Hassenauer C
  • Solomon Kindley G
  • Shane Lemieux G
  • Marcus McKethan G
  • Evan Neal T
  • Matt Peart T
  • Tyre Phillips T
  • John Michael Schmitz C*
  • Andrew Thomas T

The skinny: The situation at tackle is great, with two players in Neal and Thomas that are both young and have shown flashes of greatness. The biggest questions would have been at center, but New York addressed that with John Michael Schmitz. If they can receive even suitable guard play, the unit could be one of the best in the league.

Defensive line

  • Ryder Anderson DE
  • Habakkuk Baldonado DE**
  • Vernon Butler NT
  • D. J. Davidson NT
  • Dexter Lawrence NT
  • Rakeem Nuñez-Roches NT
  • Jordon Riley NT*
  • A'Shawn Robinson DT
  • Leonard Williams DT

The skinny: The strength of the team, once New York decides to pay Dexter Lawrence, they will return a 3-4 defensive line that is arguably the best in the league and deep with talent.

Outside linebacker/EDGE

  • Tomon Fox
  • Azeez Ojulari
  • Elerson Smith
  • Kayvon Thibodeaux
  • Jihad Ward

The skinny: This unit isn't as deep as you would like, but it's headlined by two young and hungry pass rushers in Ojulari and Thibodeaux. I wouldn't be shocked if New York looked to add some help in the undrafted pool, or maybe training camp cutdowns.

Inside linebacker

  • Darrian Beavers
  • Cam Brown
  • Troy Brown**
  • Carter Coughlin
  • Jarrad Davis
  • Dyontae Johnson**
  • Micah McFadden
  • Bobby Okereke

The skinny: The biggest question mark on the roster, this unit is one Bobby Okereke hamstring away from being in the same place they were last season… at the bottom of the league.

Cornerback

  • Deonte Banks*
  • Zyon Gilbert
  • Gemon Green**
  • Tre Hawkins*
  • Darnay Holmes
  • Adoree' Jackson
  • Leonard Johnson
  • Nick McCloud
  • Amani Oruwariye
  • Aaron Robinson
  • Rodarius Williams

The skinny: Selecting Deonte Banks in round one immediately changes the outlook of this group, as they now have a corner that can hold up in the type of situations that Wink Martindale will place his secondary in, via his exotic blitz packages.

Safety

  • Dane Belton SS
  • Terrell Burgess FS
  • Bobby McCain FS
  • Xavier McKinney FS
  • Gervarrius Owens SS*
  • Jason Pinnock FS
  • Trenton Thompson SS

The skinny: In my opinion, this unit is sneaky good. McCain is a wily but productive veteran and McKinney is one of the best players on defense. There is also goof depth in Belton and now Owens after the draft.

Special teams

  • Graham Gano K
  • Jamie Gillan P
  • Cameron Lyons LS**
  • Casey Kreiter LS

The skinny: Continuity is what matters on special teams, so it was a good play by New York to re-sign this unit. If it's not broken, don't fix it.
