The New York Giants need wide receiver talent. Their depth chart is thin at that position, and they just locked up quarterback Daniel Jones on a long-term deal. Getting him more weapons will be at the top of their to-do list.

They are working to bring back one of their own wide receivers. The Giants are expected to re-sign free agent WR Sterling Shepard soon.

Shepard has dealt with a plethora of injuries during his time in New York.

He and the team both hope the can bounce back from those going forward. When on the field, he has been effective for the Giants. At his peak, he can be a solid WR2 for an improving offense in New York.

In seven seasons with the Giants, Shepard has compiled 362 receptions for 4038 receiving yards. He's played in just ten games over the last two years, though.

This deal will most likely be a low-cost, short-term deal to give him a chance to bounce back in New York.
