The New York Giants may get a star player back sooner rather than later.

Running back Saquon Barkley has returned to individual drills in practice, according to head coach Brian Daboll.

That's a good sign for his recovery process. Of course, he still will need to ramp back up into playing speed and join the offense for team drills. This is still an important step in the right direction, though.

The Giants offense needs Barkley's spark, but they cannot afford to rush him back. His health will be at the forefront of their decision to have him return or not.

The Giants play on Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4.
