New York Giants fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Star running back Saquon Barkley left their Week 2 matchup with an apparent injury.

Injuries are never welcome, but Barkley avoided a major injury. According to multiple sources, Barkley has an 'average' ankle sprain.

Barkley is expected to miss 2-3 weeks.

After Barkley missed nearly all of the 2021 season with an ACL injury, fans were worried to see him shaken up once again. He is one of the top running back talents in the entire NFL.

Not to mention, he was a piece of a pie of RBs that held out this offseason for a better deal. Barkley could return October 8th against the Miami Dolphins or October 15th against the Buffalo Bills, depending on the accuracy of this reported timetable.

Regardless, great news for Barkley and the Giants in the long-term.
