The New York Giants concluded the 2023 NFL preseason slate against the New York Jets. Most of the attention surrounding the contest surrounded quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who was traded to the Big Apple earlier this offseason.
But it didn't take long for the Giants to steal the show. In the second quarter of the game, New York made a hilariously bad error that immediately had social media buzzing.
Giants wide receiver Kalil Pimpleton was on the move after receiving a reverse and was looking for a big play. What happened next quickly put an end to that. David Mills fell down while blocking, and Pimpleton proceeded to run right into him and fall down.
Not exactly how they drew it up, to say the least. On one hand, the play did result in a first down and moved the chains And it was a creative play call that got Pimpleton in space.
But still, it's never good when you are tackled by your own teammate. That automatically makes it the biggest blooper — and one of the funnier moments — of preseason action.
The Giants would go on to lose the matchup between the two New York squads by a score of 32-25. Pimpleton totaled 17 yards on two carries, not recording a reception in a game where he briefly exited due to a hand injury.
Now, the focus shifts to the regular season, where the Giants will take on heated rivals Dallas Cowboys in week one on Sunday Night Football. In the meantime, we can sit back and enjoy the blooper.
