Tommy DeVito to start
Giants head coach Brian Daboll announced that Tommy DeVito will start in Week 15 against the Ravens. Drew Lock is currently dealing with a heel injury.
The Giants currently don't have a third QB on their active roster. Tim Boyle is on their practice squad. If Lock cannot serve as the backup on Sunday, expect New York to sign a veteran depth option this week to be their third QB against Baltimore.
During the Giants' Week 14 loss to the Saints, DeVito came in for a snap, causing an eruption of cheers from the crowd. Many folks in attendance probably thought he was replacing Lock due to offensive struggles.
Instead, he handed the ball off on an option play and promptly exited, as Lock returned to the field. This, of course, brought an array of dismay from the fans since DeVito is a fan favorite.
"Boos" rained down, even as Lock took the snap on the next play. It was a tough look, but the Giants fan base is officially over their QB controversies and issues this season.
In Week 15, they will get a small ray of sunshine with DeVito returning to the starting lineup. I wouldn't expect a large difference in offensive production as a whole for New York, though.
