What to expect from Giants vs. Bears
The New York Giants’ season has been a tumultuous one, as they’ve skidded to a 2-7 start more than halfway through the year. Despite two solid wins against the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles, they suffered embarrassing losses in the last three weeks to the Eagles, Denver Broncos, and San Francisco 49ers.
After making no moves at the NFL trade deadline, New York is hoping to have a solid finish with their current roster. Injuries have completely decimated their roster, with key losses of running back Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers for the year. Despite the lack of available weapons, the Giants have been carried by rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart’s electric play. It’s also helped to have a stellar impact from Abdul Carter, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Brian Burns.
Chicago has been on a completely different path from the Giants in 2025. With a young core, the Bears have posted a 5-3 record, including impressive wins over the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys. They’re also coming off an insane win over the Cincinnati Bengals that required a late touchdown from Colston Loveland with 25 seconds remaining. Collectively, they’ve produced one of the most explosive offenses in the league, currently sitting at fourth in yards per game.
Second-year quarterback Caleb Williams has had a gradual improvement over this season from a tough first year in the league. He’s thrown for 12 touchdowns and four interceptions with 1,916 yards. They’ve seen a boost from their run game from the emergence of rookie running back Kyle Monangai.
The Giants’ offensive line will be challenged to slow down their defensive line, led by Montez Sweat and Gervon Dexter Sr. As a whole, the Bears’ defense has struggled, ranking 26th in yards allowed per game.
