The New York Giants have a major top need on offense. That would be a top-flight wide receiver number one. They had role players at WR step up towards the end of this past season, but they need more talent.

The giants currently don't have a true WR1 on the depth chart. Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard will both be free agents. Wan'Dale Robinson and Isaiah Hodgins are the top two receivers on the roster currently.

Could New York look to trade for a top wideout rather than sign one in free agency?

That sounds like a strong possibility, based on latest reports.

According to Pat Leonard, the Giants attempted to trade for Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy during last season.

Those talks fell through, clearly, but the Giants surely did try to work out a deal.

The Broncos just were not interested as Jeudy is still a young player with loads of physical ability. He's dealt with some drop issues and injuries, but his abilities are clear.

This is good news for fans of the Giants, though. If the team was aggressive during the season at wide receiver, they will surely address it heavily now.

They know that they need better weapons for Daniel Jones to provide greater balance to an improving offense. New York locked up their QB in Jones and running back in Saquon Barkley.

Now, wide receiver needs to be the next massive move to make for the Giants.
