The New York Giants have suffered some tough injuries in recent weeks, and another one occurred this past weekend. The tough luck makes a big decision they made at the trade deadline look even worse, too.
Ojulari placed on injured reserve
The young pass rusher is dealing with a toe injury that he suffered during the team's Week 12 loss to the Bucs. With the placement on IR, Ojulari will have to miss at least four games.
It's possible that Ojulari has played his last game with the Giants. They have just six games remaining.
The Giants weighed trading Ojulari at the trade deadline. Ultimately, they did not get an offer that they felt was worth moving off him, but there is a problem with that logic.
Ojulari is in the final year of his contract. At the end of the season, he will be free to leave New York, and the Giants would get nothing in return. Of course, they could re-sign him in the offseason, but they'll have plenty of teams to compete with there.
The pass rusher is a former second round selection for the Giants. Ojulari had 28 tackles, six sacks, 10 QB hits, and a fumble recovery in his 11 games this season.
Giants’ massive struggles actually help them add a former third round pick on offense
A notable piece to add.
