The New York Giants have mandatory OTAs this week and one familiar face won't be in attendance.
Superstar running back Saquon Barkley won't be reporting to OTAs this week because he hasn't signed his franchise tag yet as he continues to pursue a new contract with the Giants.
While Barkley won't be in attendance this week, a legendary figure in Giants history will be.
New York head coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Tuesday that Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Bill Parcells will be checking out Giants practice this week.
And here's some grainy visual evidence of Parcell's visit.
Parcells was the head coach of the Giants from 1983 to 1990. During that time, Parcells helped the Giants win two Super Bowls. Parcells retired for two seasons after the 1990 season (before taking over as the head coach of the New England Patriots in 1993).
Daboll never coached under Parcells, but he comes from the Nick Saban/Bill Belichick coaching tree which has its roots in the Parcells coaching tree.
