New York Giants rookie cornerback Deonte Banks has plenty of pressure on him. He will most likely slot into a starting role to begin the season for New York. The defensive back depth chart is thin for the Giants, and they believe in his abilities as he enters the NFL from Maryland. His aggressive nature and press coverage ability transitions quite well for the Giants scheme.
At OTAs on Friday, Banks made his first massive play at practice. Banks snagged an interception. It was the lone one on the day for the defense.
"He's been acceptable to the culture, what we're trying to build here… And I can't do anything but really appreciate him and welcome him in the same as us; it takes a lot to gain so much trust and vice versa. He came up with open arms as we did. He's been a good guy, giving us laughs, singing and stuff, which is pretty cool to see him not shy away or be shy at all and trying to be one of us." — Adoree Jackson
Keep an eye on Banks throughout the offseason. Hopefully for the Giants, he can keep making strides for New York.
