The New York Giants finished a frustrating 2024 season with a 3-14 record and are the owners of the third pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

For one star Giants player, the NFL had one more piece of bad news to wrap up a year he and the rest of the team will be eager to put in the rearview mirror.

The NFL fined Giants' Kayvon Thibodeaux for illegal action in the team's regular-season finale

The NFL announced that they are fining Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux $16,883.00. The league deemed his roughing the passer penalty in the fourth quarter also required a fine.

Thibodeaux made contact to the head/neck area of the quarterback, which will earn the flag nearly every time, and the fine typically comes after. It wasn't a small fine either, with him being given the second most expensive of the 24 handed out by the league from Week 18.

This fine puts an end to a year that didn't go as the Giants or Thibodeaux had planned. Due to missing five games, Thibodeaux took a big step back in production with him, only logging 5.5 sacks and 28 total tackles (the lowest of his career). Hopefully, he can take a step forward next year, and that will start with him staying healthy.
