The New York Giants have their head coach of the future. It's Brian Daboll. Their offensive improvement last season in his first year at the helm was eye-opening, and it earned QB Daniel Jones a shiny, new contract as well.

Pro Football Focus' Trevor Sikkema gave Daboll his flowers in his latest coach power rankings. The Giants HC slid into the top ten at the number ten spot. That's very impressive for a head coach with just one year of HC experience under his belt so far.

Many coaches could be in contention for this final spot in the top 10, but Brian Daboll gets the nod because of an immensely impressive first year as the Giants' head coach in 2022.

New York's overall offensive expected points added per play jumped from -0.169 to 0.015 from 2021 to 2022. The team's EPA per pass went from -0.197 to 0.026, and its EPA per rush went from -0.079 to 0.095. And this was all with mostly the same players from one year to the next. The difference was Daboll, and he has an even more talented team heading into 2023. He is a head coach who can raise both the floor and ceiling of a roster no matter where it is in its rebuild or winning window. Those are characteristics of a great head coach. — Sikkema

As Sikkema noted, the Giants personnel didn't change a ton from the season prior to Daboll's arrival. The wide receiver room was still unproven, and the tight end position was not extremely stable. The offensive line did make some small improvements. Having Saquon Barkley always helps, too, and Daboll deployed him in a very effective way last season.

Daboll ranks just behind Nick Sirianni, the HC of the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles, and Sean McDermott, the HC of the Buffalo Bills. McDermott is one of the most well-respected coaches in the league due to his team's consistency over the past few years.

Daboll providing stability to the Giants organization would go a long way for the fan base. He has proven that he can transform this team rather quickly.
