If the New York Giants choose to go wide receiver in the first round of this year's draft, one name has been circling pretty often for them. Jordan Addison from USC is projected to go in the range that New York picks in round one.

Quite a handful of mock drafts have had him paired up with the Giants late in round one.

The fit makes plenty of sense as Addison would immediately step into an impact role in New York alongside Parris Campbell, Darius Slayton, and others at WR.

Bucky Brooks from NFL.com believes that Addison is a unique case at his position. Brooks considers him to be one of the most polarizing players in this entire draft class.

Addison possesses the tools to be an effective slot receiver in the NFL, but first-round picks are generally expected to dominate on the perimeter. Although his 2021 campaign at Pitt (100 catches, 1,593 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns) suggests that he is capable of putting up big numbers as a featured playmaker on Sundays, last year's dip in production at USC (59 catches, 875 receiving yards and eight scores) and his size/strength deficiencies spawn concerns about his ability to impact the game as a WR1.

The concerns for Addison are valid.

He measured in a bit smaller than many expected during the pre-draft process. That being said, his impressive production at multiple spots during his college days may buy him a lot of stock in the minds of NFL front offices.

He does project to play inside, and the Giants have multiple slot options that they are excited about, including Wan'Dale Robinson.

It will be interesting to see if the Giants take Addison if he is available on draft night.
