The New York Giants know Rob Gronkowski well. They have experience against him in the Super Bowl. That being said, they would have certainly preferred to have him on their team in those scenarios. Now, that could be a possibility, according to the legendary tight end himself.
On the Up And Adams Show, Gronkowski said that Brian Daboll is the NFL coach that would have the best chance to get him out of retirement.
For the Giants, he actually wouldn't be their top TE. That would still be Darren Waller. That being said, having Gronk as your TE2 is a good situation to be in for a team. He is experienced and a true pro in the red zone.
It's also noteworthy that Daboll already has that type of influence on veterans and stars around the NFL. Waller wanted to be in New York. Gronkowski has seemed content with staying retired, but Daboll's coaching coaxes him towards a return more than any other coach in the league. Impressive.
Gronk is a future hall of fame tight end. He was the second piece of a dynamic duo with Tom Brady that put up historic statistics. It'll be interesting to see if the Giants try to sign him at any point during this season.
