The New York Giants chose to not franchise tag star running back Saquon Barkley. They did not give him a long-term extension over the past two years, either. Now, it seems like he will find a new home in free agency.
According to Pat Leonard of New York Daily News, six teams have emerged as the top candidates to sign Saquon Barkley. Check out the list below.
- Baltimore Ravens
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Chicago Bears
- New England Patriots
- Houston Texans
- Philadelphia Eagles
The Giants do not seem to be eager to discuss a new deal with Barkley. The inclination around the NFL is that the former Pro Bowl running back will be going elsewhere this offseason.
Barkley has been one of the top RBs in the NFC over the past few seasons. Since entering the league, he has been one of the most balanced tailbacks when it comes to rushing and receiving. He is also a solid pass blocker.
New York also chose to allow safety Xavier McKinney to head to free agency, too. The Giants will need to fill some major holes on their roster during this offseason.
