The NFL is scheduled to release the entire 2023 slate of matchups on Thursday, May 11th, at 8:00 P.M est.

But it seems the festivities are starting early, as we now have all of our international games announced, an incredible New Year's Eve rematch, and now, an early Christmas gift that Giants fans will love.

That's right, the Giants will play the Eagles in one of their two divisional games on Christmas Day in 2023. They will be looking to get the bad taste out of their mouth after a playoff loss that sent the Giants home and spurred the Eagles to a Super Bowl appearance.

You can just picture it now, can't you? Presents, family, dinner, and the Giants taking on the birds on the big screen. We likely won't know the other time the Giants play the Eagles until the full release, but this game is shaping up to have high stakes.

For one, it's more than just a holiday game, given the matchup will occur with maybe one or two weeks left in the season. That changes the dynamic and stays true to the NFL's idea of late-season divisional matchups.

The Giants rank in the upper half of almost all power rankings, with the Eagles a favorite amongst many to repeat their success of the 2022 season. Time will tell just how important the matchup is, as we have nearly eight months before the two play on Christmas afternoon.

But for now, you can start to make your arrangements and set your travel plans if you wish. The only thing that could have made this gift sweeter for Giants fans would have been a home game, but I would say most won't be re-gifting this one.
