The New York Giants franchise quarterback and famed second-string quarterback are both out with injuries, but that's no problem.

Because in comes Tommy DeVito, an undrafted free agent, born and raised nine miles from Metlife Stadium to give the Giants more excitement than they've had all year long. DeVito is currently living his best life, and everyone in the football world loves it.

DeVito has taken this franchise by storm, while putting up better numbers than No. 1 overall pick, Bryce Young. Devito even recently came out and said he picked to sign with the Giants over the Washington Commanders, even knowing the Commanders offered a lot more money.

In retrospect, no one saw DeVito playing a single game, much less becoming the first rookie quarterback to defeat Bill Belichick, or even becoming the first Giants QB since 2019 to throw three touchdowns? This is obviously a pleasant surprise and everyone is here for the ride.

Giants GM Joe Schoen has recently spoken and said Daniel Jones will be the team's quarterback when fully healthy, so the DeVito era will eventually end. But, in all seriousness, this is exactly what Giants fans needed: A distraction, a fun excuse to watch football games, and even pick up a couple of wins along the way.

DeVito does possess some great quarterback talents, and if he does continue to shine then there may be a quarterback competition on the rise. DeVito does one thing different than Jones – he is not scared to push the ball down the field. With DeVito at quarterback, rookie WR Jalin Hyatt gained over 100 yards against the New England Patriots with ease. And, it was Hyatt's first career 100-yard game. DeVito has been fun to watch and I do not think Giants fans want to give up quite yet.

DeVito is hilarious, a good ballplayer, and an icon that the Giants have not had since someone like Michael Strahan. DeVito has revived the amusement in football and created a whole audience just for himself. Props to the Jersey boy who still lives at home with his mother and family.

Oh, and let's not forget, that DeVito has seven touchdowns in three games as a starter. That is more than Tyrod Taylor and Daniel Jones combined… Oh, and the same amount of wins on the season.
