Aaron Rodgers is going to hurt the New York Jets

Seriously, what's next with this guy? New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was in the news again on Thursday. No, it wasn't because someone on Twitter needed everyone to know that Aaron Rodgers visited another New York landmark. By the way, until he visits the Ghostbusters firehouse, I don't need to know about anything else.

Rodgers was in the news because he spoke at a psychedelics conference in Denver. Let me just say this right up front. I'm pro psychedelics. Anything that's going to help people with their mental health is great and we should really all be pro mental health.

I had a reaction the first time I saw that tweet from Adam Schefter that showed Rodgers advocating for the legalization of psychedelics. I wasn't like "hell yeah." That should have been my first reaction. Instead it was a sigh and look of disgust that I could actually feel my face contorting to make.

I'm just tired of it. I'm tired of the the darkness retreat, the dating a witch named Blu of Earth, the whole immunized vs vaccinated thing, the horse paste stuff, the 9/11 is an inside job stuff, the Atlas Shrugged stuff, the whole thing where he doesn't speak with his family and the ayahuasca stuff.

By the way, that last one is total bullshit on behalf of the league. The NFL won't let players take Adderall and until recently, they weren't letting players smoke weed either. They threw suspensions at these guys. But it was totally cool for Rodgers to do psychedelics? No suspension? No nothing?

The thing about this that is the saddest is that its all just a schtick. There are people who want to find enlightenment and then there are people who are just dead set on being as pretentious as they could possibly be. Rodgers is the latter. It just all feels like an act at this point. We don't know who this guy really is, we just know who he wants us to think he is.

What's all hiding below that façade is a guy that's held a football team hostage with his toxicity multiple times. I'm all for guys getting the bag, but this guy just went about it the worst way every time. If it seemed like the last two off-season's were consumed by whether or not Aaron Rodgers was going to show up Pat McAfee's show and tell the world his plans, it's because that's exactly what happened. He did that to the Packers. One of those times was a year after the Packers offered him a damn near untradeable contract for them. He screwed them.

He's probably about to do it again. I honestly just feel bad for Jets fans. He had them completely rebuild that franchise before the trade ever went through. He had them sign Randall Cobb for crying out loud. Cobb isn't bad, but he probably wouldn't have been on the Jets list if he wasn't attached to Rodgers. To be honest, I don't know if he would be on anyone's list at this point. He's about to turn 33 and he's not exactly lighting it up like he did nearly 10 years ago.

Only one of three things is going to happen here. He's either going to continue his descension as a player, he's going to get upset and up and leave after a year and leave the Jets high and dry, or he's going to lead the Jets to the playoffs. I think its the second one. I think he decides to retire. He's talked about retiring more than Tom Brady and Brady actually did it twice. Why is he suddenly going to stick around for the Jets?

Look, if it all works out, that's great. Jet's fans deserve a winner. They've waited for a long time and they've gone through hell. I just wish for them that it was with someone else. Someone that they can trust and feel good about.

I'm man enough to say right now that maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Aaron Rodgers really is searching for enlightenment and the fact that he constantly wants you to know about it is irrelevant. If that's the case, then go on your journey man. I hope you find what you're looking for. Maybe this will all just work out for the Jets and it'll all be ok.

I just don't believe that it is the case and I do believe that he's just not serious about football and he's going to hurt the New York Jets really bad and it's going to suck for them.
