Latest NFL news dashes Jets players' hopes for a good end to an awful season
The 2024 Jets have been a bad team. And no excuses this year on injured or rookie quarterbacks. The 2024 Jets have been a bad team. And no excuses this year on injured or rookie quarterbacks. They currently sit at 4-12 after the embarrassing 40-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills and at this point, the offseason can’t come soon enough with only one more game to go against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday.
Some Jets players were hoping to play one more game this season, or at least some mini games. The rosters for Pro Bowl were announced today and there are no New York Jets to be found on the list.
The Jets, along with the Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, and Tennessee Titans are the only four teams to have not have a single player selected to the Pro Bowl roster.
This should come as no surprise to Jets fans as there really hasn’t been any player worthy of a Pro Bowl selection. The bigger “stars” on the Jets roster are having down years for various reasons including Sauce Garnder, DJ Reed, Quinnen Williams, C.J. Mosley, Davante Adams, Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson. None of them are having great years and are absolutely not deserving of a spot on a Pro Bowl team.
The last time the Jets didn’t have a player on a Pro Bowl roster was 2021. Last season, despite a disappointing year without Aaron Rodgers, the Jets managed to send four players to the Pro Bowl. Sauce, Mosley, Quinnen and special teams standout Justin Hardee who left in free agency this year.

Left guard John Simpson has been fantastic all season for the Jets after signing this offseason from the Baltimore Ravens. The other player I thought was worthy of consideration was linebacker Jamien Sherwood, who is third in the NFL in tackles with 152. Neither player even made the list of Pro Bowl alternates.
Six Jets were named Pro Bowl alternates. Quinnen Williams (1st), special teamer Irv Charles (2nd), Will McDonald (3rd), Garrett Wilson (3rd), Sauce Gardner (5th) and returner Xavier Gipson (5th)
The Pro Bowl will take place the week between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl. It will take place in Orlando, Florida on Sunday February 2nd at Camping World Stadium.
Jets head coaching options are already dwindling before the offseason begins
With 2024 now officially in the books, the Jets are a mere few days away from putting the 2024 season to bed as well. Then the real fun can begin as the team will look to replace their general manager and head coach. But according to ESPN Jets writer Rich Cimini on his podcast "Flight […]
