The New York Jets shocked the football world on Tuesday, at the start of the new football week, making a move not many, if any saw coming, at least this quickly.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh on Tuesday morning, after a rough start to the season with a few losses that should have been won, like a brutal loss to the Denver Broncos last week, and a close loss to the Minnesota Vikings that may have been the nail in the coffin. The Jets are 2-3.

Saleh had one year left on his contract, but his 20-36 record was all the Jets front office needed to see.

The Jets' Monday Night Football game against the Buffalo Bills will feature an interim head coach.

Through Weeks 1-5 with Aaron Rodgers, the Jets matched their 93 total points scored that they had through five weeks last season without Rodgers. Jeff Ulbrich will be the interim head coach.

The Jets will now be searching for a new head coach.
