It is hard to find a more likeable guy in the NFL than New York Jets’ defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. He has an infectious personality and despite causing all sorts of havoc in offensive backfields, is a pretty well-liked guy. Even Buffalo Bills tackle Dion Dawkins who hates all the Jets players said nice things about Quinnen.
Standing in front of the media with a big smile on his face, Quinnen doesn’t take himself too seriously even in front of the feared New York media.
So while at OTAs this week he was asked about his quarterback, Aaron Rodgers being 40-years old and about to start his 20th NFL season, Quinnen was shocked and didn’t hide it.
"Twenty years? I ain't know that. Twenty years in the NFL? Man," Williams said while giving a surprised whistle. He then highlighted 20-year-old rookie running back Braelen Allen, who the Jets selected out of Wisconsin in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft.
"Isn't that running back—No. 0—20 years old? So he's been in the NFL as long as [Allen] has been alive. That's crazy, huh? I've got to joke with him about that."
Not quite, but it’s pretty close. Rodgers was drafted the year after Allen was born, but it is still pretty jarring.
Williams famously made the rounds on social media back when he was drafted by the Jets for sneezing, blessing himself and then thanking himself.
That personality along with being named to back-to-back Pro Bowls makes him one of the most beloved Jets players of all time. Never change, Quinnen.
