The Jets are coming off a loss at the Buffalo Bills on Sunday by an embarrassing 32-6 final score while the Dolphins won at home against the Las Vegas Raiders 20-13.

Good news for the Jets is the Dolphins have not beaten anyone with a winning record except for the Raiders last week in an ugly game. The bad news for the Jets is they don’t have a winning record. The Dolphins enter this game at 7-3 sitting atop the AFC East while the Jets are 4-6 and in third place in the same division sitting just two games above the lowly New England Patriots.

After a surprising 4-3 start including big wins over the Buffalo Bills in week 1 and the previously unbeaten Philadelphia Eagles in week 6 just before the bye, the Jets find themselves free falling with three straight losses where the offense scored one touchdown.

To try and fix the offense the Jets have made a change at quarterback, benching Zach Wilson in favor of Tim Boyle who has a career 0-3 record as a starter. The Jets announced that Zach Wilson will be third string and Trevor Siemian will be the backup to Boyle.

I would imagine that the Tim Boyle experiment will not last very long and we could see Trevor Siemian as soon as today. Siemian is by far the best healthy starter on the Jets roster, and that is saying a lot.

If the Jets offensive line continues to play the way they have been, it is not likely that anyone will be able to succeed in their offense. The Jets have allowed 40 sacks on the year going against a Dolphins defense that has gotten to the quarterback 31 times this year.

On the other side the Jets will be going up against the most dangerous offense in football. The Dolphins offense averages 434 yards per game to go along with averaging a over 30 points a game, both tops in the NFL.

The Jets beat the Dolphins last season 40-17 and lost 11-6 but they did not face Dolphins starting QB Tua Tagovailoa at all last year as he was hurt for both games. This Dolphins offense is very different with Tua at the helm than it is without him.

The Jets defense will be asked to not only slow down the number 1 offense in the NFL, but set the offense up to get some easy scores. For as good as the Jets defense has played this year, that might be too much to ask.

This one could get ugly fast if the Dolphins are able to get going on offense. It will be tough for the Jets to score any points with the state of their offense even with the change at QB. I expect the Jets defense to do it’s part but the Jets will never really threaten to take over this game.

The Jets have finally made the move that most realistic and savvy Jets fans have been clamoring for since week three. They benched Zach Wilson. Which was the right move. Almost. The problem isn’t benching Zach Wilson. That had to be done. The problem is who they are benching him for. The Jets will turn […]
