With just a few days before the Jets open up the regular season on Monday Night Football against divisional rivals the Buffalo Bills, the first injury report for week one was released.

The Jets only had four names listed on the report, which is a good sign for the team going into the season.

Starting offensive tackles Mekhi Becton and Duane Brown were both listed as questionable for Monday  along with running back Breece Hall.  Michael Carter has no injury designation and practiced fully on Saturday.

Duane Brown returned to practice about two weeks ago and is still recovering from a shoulder injury but looks like he will be ready to go on Monday night. Brown will most likely be limited in practice often this year. They will keep him on a pitch count to keep him fresh for game day considering his injury and his age.

Breece Hall continues to prove doubters wrong that said he wouldn’t be ready for the start of the season due to the ACL injury he got in Denver last year.

The Jets won’t be stupid with Hall and make sure to ease him back into full game action. With Breece limited, Dalvin Cook just joining the team while returning from an injury of his own, and rookie Izzy Abanikanda coming off an injury in the preseason I would imagine the Jets will use all four of their running backs (including Michael Carter) early in the season to make sure not to put too much strain on any particular one.

Mekhi Becton is, well, Mekhi Becton. The Jets gave him the starting right tackle job and will allow him to hold on to it for as long as he plays. I would imagine Max Mitchell and Billy Turner are keeping themselves fresh considering Becton’s history.

What else is encouraging for the Jets is who is NOT listed on the report. Wide receiver Allen Lazard, defensive end Carl Lawson and running back Dalvin Cook were all full participants in practice and should be good to go Monday Night.

As for the Bills, veteran safety Micah Hyde was the lone name on the official report filed with the league office.

"So, Micah will be limited today," said Bills boss Sean McDermott. "I know I said he wasn't going to practice yesterday. He ended up doing a little bit of a jog through sessions, walkthrough sessions, but he'll be limited today. And that's it."

Hyde, a two-time All-Pro, spent the first four seasons of his NFL career as a teammate of Aaron Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers. He signed with the Bills as a free agent in 2017 and has been a defensive leader since.

Not listed on the Bills practice report is that Von Miller was placed on injured reserve last week which will keep him out for at least the first four games of the season. With Miller’s ability to get to the quarterback and the Jets questions at the tackle position early in the season, this was great news for New York.
