Three Players Jets Need to Worry About Vs. Giants
Dexter Lawrence – Defensive Tackle

Lawrence had two sacks and four QB hits last week against the Washington Commanders and was a driving force to the Giants second win of the season. The Giants defense has played very well of late and Lawrence, along with former fifth overall pick from the 2022 draft Kayvon Thibodeaux, have been instrumental in the stingy play.
Lawrence, the Giants first-round pick out of Clemson in the 2019 draft is enjoying one of his best seasons yet.
The Jets, on the other side, will be without rookie guard Joe Tippmann who has been ruled out with a thigh injury. The Jets are already down 2 offensive linemen in Alijah Vera-Tucker and Duane Brown to go along with Tippmann.
If the Jets are to score points against the Giants 14th ranked pass defense they will need to keep Zach Wilson upright. Slowing down Lawrence and Thibodeaux will be key
Jalin Hyatt – Wide Receiver

I know, I know. The Jets are getting back both of their starting cornerbacks and the Giants aren’t exactly a high-octane passing offense. But Jalin Hyatt has show flashes in limited action for the Giants and Brian Daboll is a coach that knows how to be creative with talent.
Hyatt, a rookie third-round selection by the Giants out of Tennessee, caught only two passes on five targets last week, but those two passes went for 75 yards. Hyatt is a big play waiting to happen.
Hyatt may be a rookie, but he already has some history with Sauce Gardner. During the Giants/Jets preseason game this year, Hyatt ran a stutter-go route against Gardner on the first play of the game. The Giants rookie blazed past the Jets All-Pro, but Tyrod Taylor’s deep pass landed out of bounds for an incompletion.
Taylor tried to hit Hyatt on another deep pass against Gardner on the Giants’ next possession. But Suace batted the pass. After the play, Gardner shouted, “Boy! You with the bigs! F*** is you talking about, man?! The f*** is he doing?”
“These are the opportunities that you want,” Hyatt said. “When you go against elite corners, especially like him, those are opportunities you’ve got to take advantage of. That’s how you get your name out there.”
Could be a fun game within the game to watch Hyatt try and challenge Sauce Gardner.
Darren Waller – Tight End

The Giants tight end had seven catches for a season high 98 yards and his first touchdown as a Giant against the Washington Commanders.
His best game ever was against the Jets in 2020 when he played for the Las Vegas Raiders. In the game, Waller had 13 receptions for career-high 200 yards and two touchdowns.
Waller has a special relationship with quarterback Tyrod Taylor and Taylor will look to get Waller the ball early and often.
The Giants have thrown six interceptions and lost four fumbles so far this season while the Jets have been opportunistic on defense. Their 13 takeaways are tied for the third most in the NFL and it has them at a plus five turnover differential. The Giants are minus four. In a matchup of two struggling offenses and two good defenses, holding the ball will be the difference for both teams.
Jets Dalvin Cook frustrated with his role on the offense
This was never a match made in heaven. This was never a fit. This was a marriage of convenience that is not convenient anymore. And it’s time for them to go their separate ways. And they better do it soon before it’s too late. Dalvin Cook was never going to be what he was with […]
