The Kansas City Chiefs had an incredible 2024 season, and three players were greatly rewarded for their efforts.
On Friday, the Associated Press released their All-Pro honorees, and three Chiefs players were named to the first team, while one earned second team honors.
Guard Joe Thuney, center Creed Humphrey, and defensive tackle Chris Jones were all considered the best at their positions. Cornerback Trent McDuffie was named to the second team.
Thuney, Humphrey, and Jones were also named to the third-annual Players' All-Pro team.
So let's go through why each of these players truly deserved this recognition.
For Thuney, has is very dominant at left guard, but has shown his versatility this season. Due to the tackle issues that Kansas City has been dealing with, Thuney moved out to left tackle and was able to excel.
And then right next to Thuney, there's Humphrey. The connection between a center and a quarterback is crucial, so Humphrey is a large part of the reason why Mahomes is able to make plays the way he does.
Lastly, Jones wreaks havoc against any team he goes against. This season, he has 37 total tackles, five sacks, one forced fumbles, and 6.5 stuffs across 15 games played.
Humphrey received the most votes, followed by Thuney and then Jones.
As for Chiefs who didn't make the list, right guard Trey Smith, linebacker Nick Bolton, linebacker Leo Chenal, and tight end Travis Kelce also received votes. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes didn't received any.
These are well deserved honors for these three key members of the Chiefs roster.
