Wildfires are currently raging across Los Angeles County, forcing many people to evacuate their homes.
According to NBC News, the wildfires have claimed the lives of 10 people so far, and have forced nearly 180,000 people from their homes.
So, the NFL decided to do what they could to help the communities affected by these devastating wildfires.
The league announced on Friday that they are donating $5 million to help wildfire relief efforts.
"The NFL family is providing $5 million to support communities affected by the wildfires in the greater Los Angeles region. Led by individual contributions from clubs and ownership groups from the Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans, and NFL Foundation, these funds will deliver vital resources to local organizations supporting those affected by the wildfires," the NFL said in a statement.
And NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell also spoke out.
"We are heartbroken over the devastating losses experienced by so many in the Los Angeles area and inspired by the heroism of first responders and residents who have supported their neighbors. The NFL family is committed to working with the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams to support their local communities in their time of need," Goodell wrote.
NFL lands on a decision for where the Rams will play their playoff game against the Vikings
Because of these wildfires, Monday night's playoff game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams that was set to be played at SoFi Stadium was moved to State Farm Stadium, the home of the Arizona Cardinals.
This came after the Rams sent players home early, canceling their media availability following practice on Thursday.
"Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. PT Friday morning through Seatgeek.com for Rams Season Ticket Members and Noon PT to the general public. More information on ticket sales will be provided as soon as possible," the NFL wrote in a statement
