NFL Power Rankings Week 9:
1. Philadelphia Eagles (7-1) ↔️
For the second straight week the Eagles remain atop our NFL Power Rankings. The Eagles are now the only team left in the league with only one loss. And their offense seems to have found their rhythm, as they've scored over 30 points in back-to-back weeks. They made a splash ahead of the trade deadline by adding safety Kevin Byard from the Titans, and reports have suggested that the team is still looking for ways to improve their roster, as their eyes are set on returning to the Super Bowl, and this time being the team holding the Lombardi Trophy at the end.
2. Baltimore Ravens (6-2) 📈 1
For the first time this season, the top team in the AFC isn't the Chiefs, as the Ravens have landed at number two. It wasn't the best week for QB Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, but they still got the job done and continued their impressive season. They improve to 6-2, are tied for the best record in the AFC, and stand atop the AFC North. To stay at the top won't be easy, though, as they have one of if not the toughest remaining schedule.
- Week 9: Vs Seattle Seahawks (5-2)
- Week 10: Vs Cleveland Browns (4-3)
- Week 11: Vs Cincinnati Bengals (4-3)
- Week 12: @ Los Angeles Chargers (3-4)
- Week 13: BYE
- Week 14: Vs Los Angeles Rams (3-5)
- Week 15: @ Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2)
- Week 16: @ San Francisco 49ers (5-3)
- Week 17: Vs Miami Dolphins (6-2)
- Week 18: Vs Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3)
3. Dallas Cowboys (5-2) 📈 3
The Cowboys season has been full of highs and lows already through the first eight weeks, but through it all find themselves at 5-2, and they continue to show when they are firing on all cylinders they not only can beat anyone, but they can blow them out. In Week 8 they picked up their fourth multi-score win of the season. When the Cowboys have both sides of the ball playing at their best, there is no question they are among the best teams in the NFL.
4. Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) 📉 2
The Chiefs dropped their 2nd game of the season in Week 8. To make it worse, they lost to the struggling Denver Broncos 19-8. And from the opening kickoff, they just didn't look like themselves. They had won six straight prior to this loss, and it was made known prior to kickoff that QB Patrick Mahomes was playing ill this week. So I don't think this loss should prompt panic around the Chiefs just yet, they remain one of the clear Super Bowl contenders in the league.
5. Miami Dolphins (6-2) 📈 2
The Dolphins got back In the win collum with a convincing win over the Patriots. Their high-powered offense will have them in any game and gives them the ability to embarrass opponents if they can't match the Dolphin's firepower. The big concern with the Dolphins is while they have six wins, they've lost the only two games against teams with winning records through the first eight weeks of the season.
6. Detroit Lions (6-2) 📈 2
7. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2) 📉 2
8. Cincinnati Bengals (4-3) 📈 2
Dont look now, but the Bengals look all the way back. They dominated the 49ers 31-17 this week, and now sit at 4-3 after starting 1-3 to begin the season. Now that Joe Burrow is healthy, the Bengals look back on track to being one of the best teams in the AFC, as well as the NFL. They have a big test coming up with the Bills coming to Cincinnati for Sunday Night Football.
9. San Francisco 49ers (5-3) 📉 5
10. Buffalo Bills (5-3) 📉 3
11. Seattle Seahawks (5-2) 📈 1
The Seahawks not only got a big win in Week 8 to take over the top spot in the NFC West. They also made the first big splash ahead of the NFL trade deadline when they traded for Giants DL Leonard Williams. The Seahawks seem to have full belief in the roster they've built, enough so that they made a win-now move like this. It'll be interesting to see how big of an impact Williams has on the Seahawk's defense, but this move tells the rest of their division and the league that they are ready to win.
12. Los Angeles Chargers (3-4) 📈 1
13. Cleveland Browns (4-3) 📉 2
14. New York Jets (4-3) 📈 3
15. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) 📉 1
16. Los Angeles Rams (3-5) ↔️
17. New Orleans Saints (4-4) 📈 4
The Saints offense has been lackluster this season to say the least, but in Week 8 we saw it come to life. They exploded for 38 points with five offensive touchdowns on the day against the Colts defense. The Colts defense has struggled over the last few weeks, but the Saints will take any offensive production they can get at this point in the season.
18. Washington Commanders (3-5) 📈 5
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4) 📈 3
20. Minnesota Vikings (4-4) 📉 5
21. Tennesee Titans (3-4) 📈 6
The Titans offense got a much-needed makeover this week when rookie QB Will Levis made his NFL debut. And what a debut it was. Levis became just the third player in NFL history to throw for four touchdowns in their NFL debut. And to make it even sweeter, it ended with a win for the Titans, who desperately needed it. It will be a quick turnaround for Levis and Titans as their focus now must be on their Week 9 matchup with the Steelers on Thursday Night Football.
22. Indianapolis Colts (3-5) 📉 3
23. Houston Texans (3-4) 📉 5
24. Atlanta Falcons (4-4) 📉 4
25. New York Giants (2-6) 📉 1
26. Green Bay Packers (2-5) 📉 1
27. Denver Broncos (3-5) 📈 2
The Broncos saw everyone writing off their season, and well, it seems they didn't write back. They picked up the biggest win of the season and ended a long drought in the process. Beating the Chiefs after losing the past 16 matchups, with their last win coming in 2015. The pairing of Sean Payton and Russell Wilson has had a lot of criticism early on, but maybe this win will be able to rejuvenate their pairing along with the Broncos season.
28. New England Patriots (2-6) 📉 2
29. Las Vegas Raiders (3-5) 📈 1
30. Chicago Bears (2-6) 📉 2
31. Carolina Panthers (1-6) 📈 1
The final winless team is no more after the Panthers were able to beat the Texans 15-13. This game seemed to have some extra emotion involved as the top two picks in the 2023 draft (Bryce Young and CJ Stroud). And all week, the Panthers were hearing all the noise, suggesting they drafted the wrong guy with their top pick. The Panthers got the last laugh, though, and saw Young out-perform Stroud on the day.
32. Arizona Cardinals (1-7) 📉 1
