Ohio State is going to be playing a football game in a historical place that is not mainly used for hosting football games during the 2024 season.

When the Buckeyes travel to take on Northwestern this coming fall, they’ll be playing the game at an MLB stadium. Chicago Cubs home stadium Wrigley Field, according to Wildcat Report.

Ryan Field where Northwestern normally plays home games has already had demolition begin to start their $800 million reconstruction.

The Buckeyes travel to take on Northwestern on Nov. 16, which will be Homecoming for Northwestern as well. Ohio State will turn around and play Indiana then Michigan.

Ohio State’s off weeks will come on Sept. 14 and Oct. 19 and they’ll play at Penn State the following weekend of the 19th. You can see the full schedule below:

Ohio State is 65-14-1 all-time against Northwestern and last defeated them 21-7 in 2022. You have to go back to the 2004-2005 season to find the Buckeyes loss to the Wildcats. Northwestern came out on top 33-27 in overtime at home.

It isn’t often that you get to play a college football game at a historical MLB stadium, so this comes as a unique opportunity for the Buckeye program.
