If anyone knows a little something about a championship parade, it's former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.
Six times throughout his 24 year tenure in New England, the coach rode in a duck boat through the streets of Boston as fans came from all over to celebrate the incredible accomplishment.
And on Friday, it's the Celtics' turn. So Belichick took a moment to send a message to the team.
"Congrats @celtics! This view doesn’t get old. Enjoy it out there today! – BB," he posted on his Foundation's account.
On Monday night, the Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, earning their 18th banner in franchise history. With that, the officially became the winningest team in the league. The Los Angeles Lakers sit behind them with 17 wins.
It was truly an incredible effort from each and every player on the team, with Jaylen Brown being crowned MVP. From the work of Brad Stevens taking risks and bringing in lots of talent, combined with the coaching from Joe Mazulla, and of course all the players.
Derrick White nearly lost his teeth in the game, while Kristaps Porzingis played through an injury that will need surgery. Along with White and Porzingis, Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, Derrick White, and Al Horford all left a piece of them out on that court.
Plus, we'd be remiss not to mention Payton Pritchard, who nailed a buzzer beater three from the logo right before the end of the first half. (That even prompted a reaction from Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes).
Patriots quarterback Drake Maye along with linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley were at TD Garden for the game, getting to see all the action live. But plenty of other past and present players made sure to watch, and they reacted when the green and white confetti started to fall.
Here are the reactions from Patriots Nation:
