Since naming him the starter for the second half of the season, Bill Belichick and Bailey Zappe have grown closer.

However, the difference on how the two addressed each other after the New England Patriots' win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and their win over the Denver Broncos was completely different.

After the win over the Steelers, Zappe went into the locker room and immediately spotted offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien. The two embraced, but when he spotted Bill Belichick, his expression quickly changed.

He went in for the handshake instead.

However, after the Patriots win over the Denver Broncos, things were completely different. Zappe and Belichick's interaction in the locker room after the win proved just how close the two have become.

During his weekly appearance on WEEI's Jones & Mego with Arcand, Zappe was asked about this viral clip. And his answer didn't disappoint.

“After the Broncos game, he and I reached out for a handshake and I told him no more handshakes, and then went for the hug,” Zappe said. "So that's how that all happened."

"Me and him have always had a great relationships. I've always been able to walk into his office and ask any questions and he's always very open to answering anything I have questions about," Zappe added. "It's awesome to be coached by the greatest of all time, so I come to the building every day happy to learn from him and just be a sponge and listen to everything he has to say about the entirety of the game of football."

The cameras did a good job of capturing this very wholesome moment. And if both Zappe and Belichick have their way, there might be a few more hugs after some more wins with two games remaining this season.
