While no team is ever going to aim to tank, many fans are rooting for the New England Patriots to do just that.

Yet, their recent wins over the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos have pushed their draft pick down a bit. But Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills bumped them right back up again.

The Patriots currently hold the No. 3 overall pick, but are just barely behind the Washington Commanders who have the second. The Carolina Panthers secured the top pick for the Chicago Bears with their loss.

The picks are based on each team's record, with strength of schedule coming in as the tiebreaker. On Tankathon, the Patriots and Commanders have the same, sitting at .515. However, their official X, formerly known as Twitter, account provided some additional information.

Because of this, there are a few games fans should be paying attention to in the later window.

  • Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Seattle Seahawks
  • Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos
  • Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs

New England fans should be rooting for the Seahawks, Broncos, and Bengals.

Getting a top pick is even more important right now with some quality quarterbacks expected to go off the board early. With the third (and maybe even second) pick, the Patriots are in a position to potentially draft UNC's Drake Maye or LSU's Jayden Daniels.

Fingers crossed they are able to clinch a top pick.
