The New England Patriots made a key roster move on Thursday.

According to Field Yates, the Patriots have claimed linebacker Christian Elliss off waivers from the Eagles.

He further reported that Elliss had many teams interested, with the Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, and Miami Dolphins all placing a claim on him.

The Eagles really didn't need Elliss anymore after the signed Shaq Leonard. That combined with Zach Cunningham trending towards playing led to the Eagles waiving Elliss.

He recorded his first start in the Eagles loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

However, his start with the Patriots will have to wait as the move is deferred to Friday because the team plays on Thursday Night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Across his three years with the Eagles, Elliss has 35 total tackles. This year has been his best with 21 total tackles across 12 games played.
