Philadelphia Eagles postgame comments quotes WR Super Bowl DNA comeback win Week 4 Jacksonville Jaguars championship

How teams respond to adversity is what separates the contenders from the pretenders in the NFL.

On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles found themselves in an early 14-0 hole to the Jacksonville Jaguars. But it was the team’s championship DNA that shined especially bright in their 29-21 come-from-behind victory.

The Eagles’ locker room has a fantastic mix of talented youngsters and seasoned veterans, some with Super Bowl experience.

Eagles WR A.J. Brown finds himself somewhere in the middle of those two groups, but his comments after the game speak volumes about the culture inside Philadelphia’s locker room.

“Everybody can say that they’re doing it or coming along when stuff is going (well),” said Brown. “We want to be tested. We want to see how it is when your back is against the wall.”

The Eagles, who have not spent much time trailing this season, embraced the adversity to the tune of a 29-0 run after the early 14-point deficit.

For an offense with a run-first identity, the Eagles are built to play with a lead. However, they checked another box by sticking to the game plan, and not abandoning the ground game despite the score.

The Eagles have become comfortable in uncomfortable situations. Through four games they have proven to be unflappable no matter the obstacles before them. Traits like these are the foundation of which Super Bowl teams are built upon.
