Jalen Hurts speaks ahead of the Super Bowl.

When Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid sees Jalen Hurts, he sees a star.

Reid is responsible for building a game plan to stop Hurts in Super Bowl LVII. The only problem is that he actually loves how the Eagles' star quarterback plays the game of football.

"First of all, Jalen's a good kid, so he's fit in very well with that team," Reid said to NBCSports. "He's one of the leaders on that team if not the main leader and his play has proven out to be very, very good."

Reid added: "He'll do nothing but get better with time. That's just how it works at that position. It looks like he's in complete control of that offense. A real tribute to the kid."

Jalen Hurts just keeps getting better

Hurts and Patrick Mahomes are the last two quarterbacks standing this NFL season. It's fitting that they will probably finish one and two in MVP voting when the award is announced on Thursday. What is also interesting is that the two quarterbacks are going to make history at the Super Bowl: Being the first two Black QBs to play each other in the NFL's marquee game.

Still, Reid is incredibly impressed with Hurts, not only for his leadership but also for his improvement as a player.

In Hurts' first three years in the NFL, he has gotten better. Specifically, Hurts has improved in one key area incredibly: passer rating. It rose from 77.6 to 87.2 to 101.5. Additionally, his completion percentage has also gotten better with time from 52 to 61 to 67.

Hurts is far from reaching his peak as a professional quarterback. Reid knows that and he knows how hard it will be to stop him in the Super Bowl.

"You've got to keep an eye on him, for sure," Reid said. "He is a great runner, but he also can throw the ball well. You better keep an eye on him somewhere there."

Hurts is special. Even his opposition has to respect how well he plays under pressure.
