Bills veteran throws shade at Eagles DL Jalen Carter after controversy during Week 17 game
He felt like the Eagles defender did it on purpose.
In the NFL, emotions run high. These are pro players feeling the heat to perform, and Sunday’s Week 17 game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills was filled with emotion, awful weather, and plenty of twists and turns all day long.
One Bills offensive lineman just threw a bit of shade at Jalen Carter for a particular play during the Eagles’ win.
Spencer Brown believes Jalen Carter gouged him in the eye on purpose
A play that many people on social media speculated about during Bills-Eagles was a rush where Jalen Carter got his hand up high on Bills OT Spencer Brown. There was no flag thrown on the play, even though there was some clear hands to the face action from the Eagles lineman.
Brown believes it was purposeful, and that is what spurred some of the frustration as the game concluded and teams left the field.
If you haven’t seen the play, check out this replay below. It is hard to imagine that Carter was just aiming to gouge Brown in the eye, rather than focusing on just making a play in a key portion of the game. Carter plays with violent hands on a rep-by-rep basis, so it is hard to know if there was any malice involved here.
Regardless, you can tell that Brown wasn’t happy with the situation, and the Bills made sure that the Eagle understood that at the end with the tunnel scuffle. The Eagles came away with the narrow victory, though. We’ll see if this matchup happens again. If so, both teams will have made a Super Bowl run.
