The Philadelphia Eagles made a huge move this week by trading for Chicago Bears edge rusher Robert Quinn.

Philly needed some pash rush help — especially after losing Derek Barnett for the season — and Quinn, who is coming off a career year, makes a lot of sense for the Eagles.

The trade is obviously of interest to Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy. The Cowboys are in a battle with the Eagles (and the New York Giants) in the NFC East and Quinn makes Philly a better team.

McCarthy had some mixed emotions about the trade when asked about it by reporters on Thursday.

The Cowboys play the Bears this weekend so the trade means that Dallas won't have to worry about going against Quinn (who, by the way, played for the Cowboys in 2019).

But it means Dallas will have to worry about the Eagles being a better team for the rest of the season.

I'm pretty sure McCarthy would have rather played against Quinn this weekend and then been done with him. As it is, this move makes Philly better and it also means that the Cowboys will see Quinn on Christmas Eve when the Eagles visit Dallas.

It's going to be a wild second half of the season in the NFC East. Three teams are in position (sorry Commanders, you guys are spectators this season) to win the NFC East and those three teams are playing good football right now.
