A.J. Brown has been instrumental in the Philadelphia Eagles’ transition into a high-powered passing attack this season. Unfortunately, the star wideout’s status is up in the air for Sunday night’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

Brown was the only Eagle on the team’s active roster that failed to participate in Thursday’s practice. According to the team’s injury report, Brown was absent due to an illness.

Prior to Friday’s practice session, coach Nick Sirianni told reporters exactly what Eagles fans had been hoping to hear.

“He’s gonna practice today. He’s fine, he’ll be ready to go,” Sirianni said with confidence.

Whether Brown practices in a limited fashion, or is a full participant, this update almost guarantees that he’ll be able to suit up against Green Bay.

Brown has cooled off from his hot start to the season in his last two outings. He has recorded just six catches for 67 yards with one fumble lost. Brown tweaked his ankle in the team’s loss to the Washington Commanders, which is likely to have played a factor in the drop off in production.

Whether he’s 100 percent or not, quarterback Jalen Hurts is sure to benefit by his presence alone. The Packers’ pass defense ranks fourth in the NFL, allowing just 192.5 yards per game through the air.
