Dallas Goedert makes latest Pro Football Focus QB rankings look laughable after they disrespect Eagles' Jalen Hurts
National media outlet Pro Football Focus recently ranked all 32 NFL quarterbacks, putting Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl MVP-winning QB Jalen Hurts at No. 5, behind Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson. That kind of disrespect caused a ton of backlash from fans and other outlets. However, Eagles' tight end Dallas Goedert made […]
National media outlet Pro Football Focus recently ranked all 32 NFL quarterbacks, putting Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl MVP-winning QB Jalen Hurts at No. 5, behind Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson.
That kind of disrespect caused a ton of backlash from fans and other outlets.
However, Eagles' tight end Dallas Goedert made PFF's list look silly with what he had to say about the rankings.
"I think my reaction is the same as his. We don't really care about what other people have to say about us," Goedert told A to Z Sports.
Goedert went on to praise Hurts’ ability to deliver in clutch moments and shut down the notion that Hurts isn’t an elite passer.
"And I know his most important thing is not being number one on a list. His most important thing is winning games, and that's what he's done so well throughout his career," Goedert said. "You know, I think he throws the best ball in the league. And people say he can't throw the ball down the field. You know, when it comes to a third and six and he needs to either complete a pass or use his legs to get the first down, it seems like he does that more often than not."
Hurts had four comeback wins during the 2024 regular season, where he rallied the Eagles from behind in the fourth quarter to secure victories. One year earlier, he led the league with six.
Not to mention that since the start of the 2022 season, Hurts has recorded one of the highest winning percentages among all NFL quarterbacks dating back to 1970, with a 46-19 record and a .708 winning percentage. That puts him at No. 6 behind Jackson and Mahomes as the only current active QBs in the league.
For Goedert, the numbers and rankings don't compare to Hurts’ overall leadership and ability to consistently keep the Eagles in a position to win.
"So whatever the rankings say, you know, I think he's, he's an ultimate winner," Goedert said. "And to me, that's the most important part of the quarterback is the win-loss record. There's a lot more that goes into it, but I feel like Jalen always puts us in a position to have the opportunity at the end of games. And you know, that's what I want out of my quarterback, for sure."
Jalen Hurts’ receiving weapons get the recognition they deserve in PFF’s new rankings
The Philadelphia Eagles relied heavily on their ground game in 2024, but it's no secret that quarterback Jalen Hurts has some of the best receiving weapons in the game. In fact, Pro Football Focus believes that they top the charts. PFF ranked all 32 receiving units, putting the Eagles at No. 1 overall. Here's what […]
