Eagles 2024 Mandatory Minicamp: 3 offensive players to keep a close eye in key offseason dates

The Philadelphia Eagles wrapped up OTAs last week, which were voluntary workouts and practices for veterans, though many showed up.
The next step in the Eagles' offseason program is a mandatory minicamp that will be held from June 4-6. This is the first-ever mandatory minicamp held under Nick Sirianni since he became the Eagles head coach in 2021
Like OTAs, mandatory minicamp still consists of no live contact, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.
Below are three offensive players to keep an eye on over those three days.
WR Britain Covey
Britain Covey is an exceptional punt returner but he wants to play a bigger role on offense.
The good news for him is that there is a wide-open vacancy at wide receiver No. 3 and the Eagles have already been giving him looks in the slot.
However, there is still plenty of competition that he's up against this offseason in veterans John Ross, and Parris Campbell, and rookies Ainias Smith and Johnny Wilson.
At 5-8 and 173 pounds, Covey is much smaller than the guys listed above but his speed and catching abilities might just make up for that.
He's also loyal to the Eagles. After he suffered an injury during training camp last summer and was cut from the 53-man roster, he denied other teams to join the practice squad.
In 2023, Covey played just 58 offensive snaps, catching four passes for 42 yards.
RG Tyler Steen
Cam Jurgens, who started at right guard last fall, is expected to take the place of Jason Kelce as the Eagles starting center this year.
That means Tyler Steen is next in line for the starting right guard job.
Steen only started one game last year and it was against the Dallas Cowboys. It wasn't a pretty start, but he was tasked with stopping Micah Parsons as a rookie, which is tough for anyone.
Steen will be competing against Matt Hennessy, Darian Kinnard, rookie Trevor Keegan, and possibly Mekhi Becton for the right guard job.
RB Saquon Barkley
Saquon Barkley is expected to be a major X factor for the Eagles' offense in 2024 and he has no choice but to outperform everyone.
The Eagles spent a lot of money bringing Barkley to Philly, $37.75 million to be exact.
And hopefully, he can live up to that price tag. It sounds like he already is, but we want to see more just to be sure.
After all, consistency is key.
