Eagles vs. 49ers Final Score Predictions: Philadelphia’s defense must slow down Christian McCaffrey to start back-to-back Super Bowl run

It is a huge NFC clash between two of the best teams in the NFL when at their best.

The Wild Card Round is set to unfold in the coming days around the NFL. The San Francisco 49ers will visit the Philadelphia Eagles in a playoff matchup that both teams know rather well.

How will the game go for the Eagles offense? Will the 49ers be healthy enough to show their true potential for the postseason? Check out our score predictions for Eagles-49ers below.

Eagles vs. 49ers Final Score Predictions

Eagles 23, 49ers 17

This game is one that’s so tough to predict. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been impressive during the postseason in recent years, but this offense has been consistently held back at times by play-calling, offensive line play, and also mistakes by Hurts during the regular season. Kevin Patullo has a ton of pressure on him as the OC, but the Philly defense might be the best one in the entire NFL.

With that, it is hard to expect a high-scoring matchup, even though the 49ers offense has been one of the more explosive units over the back half of the season. In the end, I have to go with the team I believe has the upper hand in the trenches. That’s the Eagles.

Eagles 23, 49ers 20

“I want to pick against the Eagles so bad because of how inconsistent their offense has been. But injuries continue to pile up for the 49ers while Philly is about to get back right tackle Lane Johnson. This feels like one that will come down to the wire, but I see the Eagles winning in the trenches as per usual. The roster is just to good when you go position by position.

The only question is can Kevin Patullo find rhytm as a play caller in the playoffs? Or will the Eagles need to win in spite of their offensive woes? With an Eagles defense that is playing its best at the right time, I think they can. At least for this weekend.” — Mauricio Rodriguez

49ers 20, Eagles 17

“It’s crazy to think that either the Eagles, who are reigning Super Bowl Champions, or the 49ers, who have defied all odds amid injury this season will see their season end after this weekend. Nonetheless, I can’t be confident in the Eagles given how this season has unfolded.

The offense hasn’t been what we are accustomed to, especially with stars like Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and A.J. Brown all having more downs than ups this season. That coupled with the 49ers defense and Saleh being back at the helm, lead me to believe it could rough sledding for the Eagles offense.” — Rob Gregson

Eagles 21, 49ers 13

“The Eagles and 49ers do not like each other and have a history of meeting in the postseason. The most memorable game? Well, that had to be when the Eagles beat San Francisco with Josh Johnson and Christian McCaffrey at quarterback. The 49ers were hobbed then, and they’re hobbed now. The Eagles aren’t a team that can or should win the Super Bowl this year, in my opinion.

They’re really not that great of a football team. However, they will do just enough this weekend to win this game. It will be a rock fight because of the great defenses on both sides. Philly is more built for those types of games, with the running game being a key emphasis this weekend. Give me the Eagles.” — Justin Churchill
