When Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown suited up for Sunday's matchup against the Washington Commanders, he was tied in the league with Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson (2012) and Pat Studstill (1966) as the only three players to have five-straight games of 125-plus receiving yards.
But after logging eight catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns in Washington, Brown stands alone as the only wide receiver in NFL history to have logged 125-plus receiving yards in six games in a row.
It's a huge accomplishment that Brown isn't ready to celebrate just yet.
"I think there will be a time when I sit down and I'll [reflect] and I'll be like, 'Go A.J.!'" he told reporters following the Eagles' 38-31 win. "But that's not it right now. We've got a big matchup, we've got Dallas [next week] … we've got to clean up some stuff and go to work."
16 of those yards on Sunday came from an incredible one-handed catch that Brown made in the end zone.
Brown was asked if he feels like he's "in a zone" with his performance streak.
“I wouldn't say I'm in a zone," Brown said, "I'm just, each and every possession, I'm trying to stay locked in with my routes and my pad level and just making sure I catch the ball and breaking it down to the smallest little (detail), and just trying to stay locked in for my team.
"Whatever I have (in yards) at the end of the game is what I have at the end of the game, but whenever I get my opportunity I know I got to come alive. Trusting my coaches to keep putting me in situations, trusting the game, letting it come to me, you know, and whenever I get my opportunity, make the most of it, I think that is what it is.”
Here's a look at Brown's last six games:
Week 8 @ Commanders: 8 catches, 130 yards, and 2 TDs
Week 7 vs. Dolphins: 10 catches, 137 yards, and 1 TD
Week 6 @ Jets: 7 catches, 131 yards
Week 5 @ Rams: 6 catches, 127 yards
Week 4 vs. Commanders: 9 catches, 175 yards, and 2 TDs
Week 3 @ Buccaneers: 9 catches, 131 yards
Brown's teammate, cornerback Darius Slay, who was also teammates with Johnson at the Detroit Lions can see the striking resemblance between the two wideouts.
"He attacks the ball just like Calvin used to do," Slay said. "It's mind-blowing that I'm seeing someone else do the same thing. He's doing some crazy s— right now."
